London is the epitome of a world city. In recent years, major studies have revealed it to be the most desirable place on earth to work, the UK’s favourite city, the ‘capital of Europe’ and the world’s most popular tourist destination. Not bad going for the capital of a country little over half the size of California.
While Wembley is situated in the north-west of London, convenient access to the Underground’s Metropolitan and Jubilee Lines means that central attractions and amenities can be reached in just 20 minutes by train. With this in mind, it’s easy to see why so many students choose to enrol at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Wembley.
London is the most international capital city in the world and at the centre of the football industry because so many football clubs are based here. I can feel the atmosphere everywhere in London and I really enjoy that.
Closer to home
Central London is certainly easy to reach by tube, but that’s not to say our students don’t have access to a wide range of amenities and facilities right on their doorsteps. London Designer Outlet – part of the wider Wembley Park Retail project – was opened in 2013 and is situated adjacent to the stadium itself. Built at a cost of £100 million, it is home to around 70 designer outlet stores, 15 restaurants and a nine-screen cinema – all housed on 280,000 square foot of land.
The ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Wembley campus is also surrounded by a range of faith centres, meaning worship support is always on hand. ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Wembley’s main halls of residence, Grand Felda House, are just a five-minute walk away too.
Getting away from it all
While the bright lights of London are enough to draw most fun-seeking students to ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Wembley, there’s something to be said for getting away from the hustle and bustle of such a busy capital city when a little relaxation is needed. Thankfully, Wembley’s convenient location makes this possible too and thus allows students to experience the best of both worlds.
Situated just 12 miles from Wembley is Colne Valley Regional Park, a 27,500-acre area of green spaces, parks and reservoirs – perfect for enjoying a bit of tranquillity if the city ever gets to be a little too much. Should you feel the need to travel a little further, Heathrow Airport is just a 40-minute drive from the centre of Wembley. Heathrow is one of the world’s most connected and busiest airports, making the whole world your oyster.
Sporting heritage
As is the case in many European capital cities, London is home to a number of professional football teams. Closest to Wembley are Queens Park Rangers, who play just six miles away at Loftus Road. Also in close proximity are Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace – so there’s plenty of choice for sports fans who might be after a new club or tranche of away trips.
The residents of London also have the chance to enjoy a cheaper day at the match by supporting one of the teams a little further down the English league structure, such as Brentford, AFC Wimbledon or Dagenham & Redbridge.
While there is clearly a lot of love for the beautiful game in London, the city’s sporting heritage doesn’t end with football. Cricket, rugby union, rugby league and tennis are all represented well by established teams and world-class venues – not to mention the hugely successful summer Olympics in 2012.
Business in the city
Being surrounded by sports is important to the development of our students; living and studying in one of the world’s most important international business cities is just as crucial. Not only are there plenty of employers to impress once qualified, there’s a real drive present in this city – meaning it’s home to all kinds of passionate entrepreneurs. With so many fantastic opportunities to carve out a rewarding career once the degree is complete, it’s not difficult to see why so many people choose to study at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Wembley.
ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø has partnered with Unite Students at their new building Arch View House on First Way, to offer ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Wembley Students vibrant, safe and centrally-located student accommodation in the heart of Wembley.Â
